111 — Order received

We can’t measure this stage: our fleet is found by VIN, and at this point your car doesn’t have one yet. How long it lasts depends on demand and allocation — owner reports range from days to months.

What it means

BMW has your order — it’s in the system with a production number, but it hasn’t been slotted into a build week yet. There is no VIN at this stage, so tools that track by VIN can’t see the car at all; the production number is the only handle it has.

This stage can last anywhere from days to months depending on demand and allocation — it ends when the order is scheduled and the status moves to 112.

Where these numbers come from. Stage times are measured on the iX3 fleet this site tracks daily — real observed transitions, measured since 2026-08-17, not estimates. The status codes themselves are BMW-wide: every US order walks the same pipeline, so the meanings hold for any model; exact durations vary by plant and route. BMW publishes only the current status — codes occasionally step backwards when a car is re-sequenced, and that usually sorts itself out in a day or two. Not affiliated with BMW.
